AJAX claimed a convincing 4-1 on humble Excelsior victory to move a point of FC Twente, at the top of the Eredivisie. Two goals from Lorenzo Ebecilio plus more strikes from Christian Eriksen and Siem de Jong saw the club of Amsterdam home with space to spare and allowed to take second place in the table of PSV Eindhoven with two games remaining.
Daan Bovenberg Excelsior goal but sit in third place at the bottom and are now strong favorites for the play-offs for relegation, with six points that make up the De Graafschap above them. PSV Eindhoven had earlier seen their title hopes take a huge blow with a 3-1 defeat to Feyenoord.

OLA Toivonen had thrown PSV level soon after, but most goals of Wijnaldum and Luc Castaignos gave Feyenoord the victory. PSV remain three points behind leaders FC Twente with two matches remaining.
