McAllister confirmed that Houllier will avoid surgery

The Deputy Manager of Aston Villa Gary McAllister said that Gerard Houllier will not require surgery after going to the hospital with pains in the chest.


Houllier was hospitalized on Wednesday afternoon and advises that it is unlikely to return to the Bank of Villa this season as he recovers.


However Houllier, who suffered a major heart operation when Liverpool manager in 2001, will not require surgery.


McAllister, who played under Houllier at Anfield, said: "he visited Gerard yesterday in the hospital after training and was surprised how well MirĂ³." It is really surprising. If you removed all the material attached to his arms, he does not look bad.
