Administrator of Rome Vincenzo Montella-keeper has been tip for full-time work by senior players Francesco Totti and Simone Perrotta. Montella, 36, has mixed fortune from the replacement of Claudio Ranieri in the Giallorossi hotseat in February, with his record over the past two months reading: he won five, drew two and lost four. But despite his inconsistent start to life at the Olympic Stadium, where he spent a decade as a player before retiring in 2009, Montella has received the backing of the captain and all-time leading scorer Totti and vice captain Perrotta.

"Montella can become a great coach, and if the new owners confirmed [him] we would all be happy," Totti, who at 35 is only a year younger than his manager, told Sky Sport. Perrotta added: "I have read many names for the [coach] in Rome next year, but [is] is worthwhile to continue to work with us in Montella, [has] began with the right foot."

Montella' future is currently unclear as new owner of the Roma, American businessman Thomas DiBenedetto, is not expected to take a decision on who appoint in time completely until the summer, when he preferred to resort to a Manager with more experience. The former striker of Sampdoria and Genoa guide of Rome a berth in Champions League unlikely, however, would be certainly favourite to land the full-time post. The Giallorossi are currently sixth in the Serie A table, four points behind placed fourth city rivals Lazio with four games to play.

Meanwhile, defender of Rome John seems likely to stay at the club after his agent Michele Gerbino importance to reports that is him linked with a move to Werder Bremen, and Flamengo. "There is absolutely no problem between Juan and Rome."He has two years on his contract, and who wants to stay, said Gerbino. "He is happy in Rome and Rome". It has a good relationship with his teammates and we are willing to remain.

"What concerns us, Rome are future of John." The only reason why there are these rumors circulating about him is because he is a player that many clubs wanted. "It will be a meeting where will tell us what you think of John."
