Saturday, April 23, 2011

Party for the promotion of Queens Park Rangers remains suspended despite twice coming from behind to draw with Cardiff in a captivating clash in the npower Championship.

Neil Warnock's side went into the match knowing victory could seal a return to the Barclays Premier League after an absence of 15 years, but now can do you with victory over hull at Loftus Road on Easter Monday.

Cardiff, a draw was not really good enough as to their ambitions of automatic promotion and now sits one point behind second Norwich with only three games remaining.

A beginning blisters, with two goals in the opening 10 minutes, set the pattern for a pulsating evening.

In the heart of it was enigmatic pattern of Queens Park Rangers, Adel Taarabt, which showed why is player of the year with two great Championship ends, the second of which came in the 71 minute to cancel equally impressive first half efforts from the duo's star of the cityJay Bothroyd and Craig Bellamy.

Striker R Heidar Helguson had promotion available at minute 89, but could only find the side compensation with the goal at his mercy.

Both parties had changed since his last departure and Bellamy, who created the first clear opening for Peter Whittingham after only three minutes, but the midfielder 10 goals not could connect properly with his shot and Paddy Kenny well kept.

But it mattered little as Bothroyd soon broke the blockade in impressive fashion.

The former student of Arsenal picked up the ball on the right touchline and jumped into a challenge before an effort of left-handed charming 18-yard of curling at the top of the crossbar.

But nothing could do Bothroyd, it may match Taarabt.

The Moroccan was one corner returned to the left, but an acute angle mattered little as he planted a stunning curling shot beyond the reach of Stephen Bywater and in the far corner.

Despite the pace of the stages of opening slowing slightly, likely half continued to flow at the ends.

And most of the 26,058 within Cardiff City Stadium were carried his feet at minute 35.

Bothroyd could be time to send over an inswinging cross from the right that Matthew Connolly could treat, even using his hand in the process, and the ball squirmed through Bellamy to spin and Kenny last smash in the upper corner.

Bywater maintains major of the city during the break, producing a great save diving after shooting of Shaun Derry had two deviations.

Whittingham lost his second good opportunity of the afternoon shortly after the restart.

As it was expected, the pace of the second half doesn't coincide with the first and that is reflected in the lack of clear opportunities.

But Taarabt guaranteed not to lose that you reached its way in the 71 minute, shrugging to the attentions of Kevin McNaughton down pass splinters from Wayne Routledge and beat Bywater from inside the area.

Bellamy was denied by Kenny but was Helguson which became the best chance of victory, somehow shot wide from close range late on.
