WASHINGTON - San Francisco Giants third baseman Pablo Sandoval has a bone broken in his right wrist and is expected to miss four to six weeks.
Athletic Trainer Dave Groeschner Giants head says that a review of MRI tomorrow on Saturday revealed the hamate bone. Sandoval will likely have surgery on Tuesday.
Groeschner said Sandoval was in pain while I hit during the world champions 3-0 loss to the nationals of Washington on Friday night and had an x-ray.
Sandoval is golpear.313 with five homers and 14 RBIs this season. Manager Bruce Bochy called "a hard blow for us" Sandoval injury.
Bochy said the Giants called up third baseman Ryan Rohlinger from Fresno triple.
