Vancouver Roberto Luongo, Pekka Rinne in Nashville and Boston Tim Thomas are the three finalists for the Vezina trophy of this year, given that the best goalkeeper of the season, the NHL announced on Friday.
Thomas recovered from offseason hip surgery, and the winner of Vezina 2009 was 35-11-9, with a record of the Liga.938 save percentage and 2.00 goals leader in the average Liga-contra. He had nine shutouts.
Thomas acknowledged the nomination, but remained fairly brief comments.
"I am very happy to hear that, obviously," said Thomas. "After last year, he was pretty sure that if you ever hear again." "So, obviously, I'm very happy."
Rinne was third (2.12 GAA) and second (.930 save percentage) in general.
Luongo a 38-15-7 record and helped the Canucks reach a record of 54-19-9 best of the franchise and the Presidents trophy.
The winner will be announced at the NHL awards ceremony on June 22 in Las Vegas.
