Toronto Blue Jays sent struggling left-handed Brett Cecil to Triple-A.

TORONTO - have sent the Toronto Blue Jays fighting left-handed Brett Cecil to 2007 Las Vegas and selected the contract of the infielder Chris Woodward.


The 24-year-old Cecil was demoted on Thursday, a day after a bad start against the New York Yankees. Cecil is 1-2 with a 6.86 ERA in four starts and has had trouble reaching 90 mph with his fastball. It was the year 15-7 past for Toronto.


The Woodward's 35 years of age reached. 305 with two homers and seven RBIs with Las Vegas. He played 11 seasons in major league baseball with the Blue Jays, New York Mets, Atlanta Braves, the sailors of Seattle and Boston Red Sox.
