Argentina: Leaders Vélez fall to Quilmes

Leaders closing velez sarsfield saw their lead at the top of the table cut to just one point after a 3-2 home defeat against Quilmes.


Hector stonemasons put ahead the hosts 1-0 at halftime, but Miguel Caneo and a double from substitute Pablo Vazquez will regret put the visitors in the control.


Quilmes, which found a place at the foot of the table, then saw Paul Garnier dismissed with seven minutes to play, but the strike's end of Agustin Vuletich was not enough for Vélez.


Godoy Cruz are now in second place after beating river plate 2-1. Jonathan Maidana fired River head but Zelmar Garcia and Mariano Donda replied for the visitors.


Jorge Achucarro got the only goal of the game as Banfield won in the bottom Newell's Old Boysclub, while Esteban Fuertes and Damian Diaz gave a victory of 2-0 to studentsto Colón de Santa Fe .


Other game saw independent place to third place as they played with a tie 2-2 with all the childrenof the day.


Goals from Facundo Parra, and Roberto Battión had been independent in control but Sebastien Ereros and Emanuel Gigliotti struck in quick succession to test visitors a part of the spoils.
