MLS: Terrible Zakuani coup pica victory for Seattle

Seattle Sounders rose to fourth place in the MLS Western Conference claiming a 1-0 victory over 10-man Colorado Rapids, but lost the midfield Star Steve Zakuani injury potentially end of the season.

The rapids have dealt a blow in the third minute when Brian Mullan saw red after a reckless tackle in Zakuani which saw the Sounders man to leave the field on a stretcher.


There was a strong crack through the microphones of the television and reports confirmed Zakuani has been diagnosed with a broken leg and they undergo emergency surgery.


Despite their numerical advantage Seattle managed only one goal, with Freddy Montero find the net after 19 minutes.


Seattle stay unbeaten in the last five games after starting the new season with two defeats.
