Ranieri open to Spartak Moscow coaching role

Former Chief of Rome Claudio Ranieri said he was tempted by the possibility of managing the Russian side Spartak of Moscow and would seriously consider any offer presented by the club.


Ranieri, 59, left the Giallorossi in February after running a terrible results threatened to put an end to the search for the capital of the club's Champions League qualifying.


But the former coach of Juventus, which has also been achieved in England with Chelsea and Spain with the Valencia and Atletico Madrid, is ready to return to work.


Ranieri identified Russia as a possible destination after seeing friend and compatriot Luciano Spalletti fantastic success with Zenit St. Petersburg, which leads them to a League and cup double in 2010.

Ranieri could face competition for the post of Italian teammate and winner of the 2006 World Cup Marcello Lippi, who has also been linked with the job.
